We had the opportunity to speak to Farrah Rao-Hansen, an alumna of the International Relations program at U of T and Livelihoods & Economic Recovery Consultant at the United Nations Development Program!
Farrah’s career has brought her to Nairobi, New York, Beirut, and now Bangkok – working with a number of UN agencies (including UNAIDS, WHO, ILO, UNICEF and UNHCR) and nonprofits in the international development/humanitarian sector.
Quinn and Farrah had a wonderful conversation about Farrah’s journey since graduating from U of T, her advice for IR students considering a career in international development, her work at the UNDP and National Democratic Institute, and navigating an international career.

Episode 10: Clemence Chu
We had the opportunity to speak to Clemence Chu about pursuing a career in law after IR!
Clemence completed the IR program in 2016, and is now in her third year at @uoftlaw. Before returning to @uoft for her JD, Clemence travelled to France to earn a Master’s in International Business Law at Université Toulouse 1 Capitole in France! Her professional experience includes a summer placement at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Toronto, and internships at L’Oréal in Paris, BMW in Beijing, and the United Nations Individual Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (UN IRMCT) in the Hague!

We are joined by Ikran Jama, the University of Toronto’s latest recipient of the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship! Ikran is a fourth year undergraduate student pursuing majors in international relations and criminology and socio-legal studies, alongside a minor in African studies. In addition, she is in her second term as President of the ASSU at U of T.
